Stephen Covey (1932-2012) was an American author, educator, and businessman who was widely known for his self-help and leadership books. Covey was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and obtained a degree in business administration from the University of Utah, followed by an MBA from Harvard University.

Covey’s most famous book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” was published in 1989 and has sold over 25 million copies worldwide. The book presents a framework for personal and professional growth based on seven principles or habits, including being proactive, beginning with the end in mind, and seeking first to understand, then to be understood.

Covey went on to write several other best-selling books on topics such as leadership, time management, and family relationships. He also founded the Covey Leadership Center, which later merged with Franklin Quest to become FranklinCovey, a company that provides training and consulting services on leadership and productivity.

Covey’s work has had a significant impact on the fields of personal development and leadership, and he is widely regarded as one of the most influential self-help authors of all time.
